Welcome to the entry site
for The Pulitzer Prizes in Books,
Drama and Music!
01/03/2025: The Drama and Music entry portals have closed for the 2025 cycle (encompassing eligible work published, premiered or released in calendar year 2024). The Books portal will reopen for the 2026 cycle in the spring of 2025, while the Drama and Music portals will reopen in the summer.
The Books portal closed for the 2025 cycle in October 2024. Please note that titles published between the 2025 cycle deadline and December 31, 2024 must have been submitted with a PDF of the most complete extant iteration (e.g. galleys, page proofs or manuscripts) during the 2025 cycle; accordingly, they will be ineligible in the forthcoming 2026 cycle.
Each spring, Columbia University awards Pulitzer Prizes in eight Books, Drama and Music categories. The winners are chosen by the Pulitzer Prize Board, which seeks to recognize excellence by eligible American writers, playwrights and composers.
