Drama and Music!
The Books competitions (Fiction, History, Biography, Poetry and General Nonfiction) closed for the 2020 cycle on October 1. Book components of otherwise complete entries will be accepted until the close of business on October 15. Books slated for publication in the final quarter of the year must have been submitted in galley, page proof or bound manuscript form by the October 1/October 15 deadline.
The deadline for the 2020 Drama and Music competitions is December 31.
Before initiating any entries, please consult the Drama and Music sections of our How to Enter page; the Drama and Music submission guidelines; and the 2020 competition announcement, which summarizes key changes instituted on the new entry site. Returning entrants and those who created accounts on the old site in anticipation of the competition window must create new accounts.
Each spring, Columbia University awards Pulitzer Prizes in seven books, drama and music categories. The winners are chosen by the Pulitzer Prize Board, which seeks to recognize excellence by eligible American writers, playwrights and composers.

All entry forms and fees must be submitted electronically. Paper forms and checks are not accepted.
Preferred receipt date for books published in the first half of the year: June 15, 2019. Final deadline for entry form and fee: October 1, 2019. Final receipt deadline for books: October 15, 2019. Drama and Music entries are due by December 31, 2019.
Entry fee: $75 per entry - paid by credit card only (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover).
